The Parents as Teachers evidence-based home visiting model is the comprehensive home-visiting, parent education model used by Parents as Teachers Affiliates. PAT is designed to support families with early childhood parent education, well-being, and school readiness, which serves parents with children ages prenatal through kindergarten. Our parenting classes can help you understand the importance of play, how your child learns, how to support literacy, guidance techniques and so much more! Access our class list here. With weekly activity packets, storybooks, and all the other materials needed for education, The Children’s Cabinet has trained community-based home visitors who support parents as they support their children. Based on 25 years of research, this curriculum is available to youngsters starting at age 2 to age 5, leading up to kindergarten. The Children’s Cabinet is proud to provide a program call HIPPY, but what is HIPPY? HIPPY is the Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters, an evidence-based home-visit program that improves child outcomes by supporting parents as the child’s first and most important teacher.
